Fresh Wagon is a community-led program through the Union County Extension Office that provides fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables to families in need. The initiative partners with local farmers, volunteers, and organizations to promote healthy eating, reduce food insecurity, and strengthen connections between local agriculture and our community.

Holiday Food Drive

This holiday season, Fresh Wagon is hosting a Holiday Food Drive to help ensure every Union County family has access to nutritious meals. We are collecting non-perishable food items and healthy pantry staples to distribute through our local Fresh Wagon program.
We’re asking for donations of:
- 16oz peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
- Packages of instant mashed potatoes
- Boxes of stuffing mix
📅 Collection Dates: November 17– December 12
📍 Drop-off Locations:
- Union County Health Department
- Union County Extension Office
- St. Teresa’s Catholic Church
- FirstBank
Community members, churches, and workplaces are encouraged to get involved by donating items or hosting a collection box. Every contribution makes a difference in feeding our neighbors and spreading holiday cheer.
If your organization would like to participate or host a donation box, please contact Melissa Logan at melissa.logan@tn.gov or Abigail Thomas at athom237@utk.edu.
